in the day sky
while teachers ask why
you have been so absent
from all events and your friends

folded paper we had cut in patterns
that resembled our dim lit lanterns
which we hung to warn our parents
of how naive and incoherent we’ve been

regions are just sections of territories
while teachers ask me
where I have been
without friends
making mistakes with more my way
